4379 days down...one to go

Monday will end 12 years of employment with Nintendo of America. I started work there in 1990, left for 1998-2003, and I will be leaving there on Monday to begin the new PULLMAN chapter of this adventure. I have had the opportunity to work with some outstanding individuals and to meet some wonderful people during my time at NOA.

None more so than the group of guys that I have spent the last 2+ years with. Our group has got through some tough times and accomplished some pretty cool things. We have worked long hours, burned many games, and answered more silly questions than I can count, but we always had each others backs and dealt with everything in a professional and fun manner.

So, I would just like to say thank you and I, whilst I won't miss the tasks, I will miss the people that made heading in each day a little easier to do.

Thank you.

Thank you all for coming...Good night!

Wow...That was excellent...A lot of people showed up at Valhalla in Kirkland for my going away party. Ceez and Shane from the old days at NOA, Mano was there, and Lee showed up to keep me stories honest about the REALLY old days. I really appreciated the time I got to spend talking to everyone and seeing everybody just hanging out. It was nice. That, and we got to watch a Duck lose to a girl in the college 3-point contest. That was awesome! Seriously, I was touched by all the people that showed up to wish me well and to throw things at me. This move is very exciting for me and I am looking forward to it, but I will miss the people that are still here. Most definitely.

Finding a place to live...Step One

It's kinda hard to find a place to live (temporarily) in a town you have been to once and without laying eyes on the places you are thinking about living. I sent a few notes out today to prospective apartments that looked like a good fit (small, cheap, not too far from campus) and we will see what they say. There is also the option of living on campus in graduate student housing, I'll be calling them tomorrow.

Oh yeah, I found Alan B. last night, he's working for the University of Oslo...Crazy...

Now the ball starts rolling...

I am looking at this list of stuff that I have to do on the house before I leave and before we move...Good lord, I am never going to finish! As a wise man once said (Alan B. related this to me)...'No one ever ate an elephant in one bite'...He said that to me as I was facing a uncertain future several years ago, and that really resonates today...Does anybody know where Mr Belardinelli is today?

So, What have we here?

Okay, since we are undertaking the major move from Seattle to Pullman I thought it would be a good idea to document everything right here...Is it still called documenting if no paper is produced?

So, my last day at Nintendo is April 2nd and my first day at WSU is April 16th...Alll that has to be done in the intervening three weeks is that our house in Bothell has to be ready to go on the market...That's all...
